Kevin Hahn-Petruso is the Center for the Environment’s associate director where he supports interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers and helps guide the center’s programming. Prior to joining WashU in 2022, he worked as the Policy Manager for Trailnet, a St. Louis-based sustainable transportation nonprofit, where he led advocacy initiatives and coalitions focused on safety for people walking, biking, and using transit. Kevin has a master’s degree in energy environment and society from the University of Stavanger (Norway) and a bachelor’s in political science from Quincy University (Illinois). Kevin has a background in nonprofit management, strategic communications, and policy advocacy. He began his career in state government and public engagement, working as a staffer in the Illinois State Senate.
