Members of the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences will host an eclipse-viewing event on the front steps of Brookings Hall (weather permitting) on the Danforth campus. This event is free and open to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
The solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 begins in St. Louis at 12:42 pm and ends at 3:17 pm. Although it will not be a total eclipse on the Danforth Campus, it will be close, with the maximum eclipse of about 98% occurring at 2:00 pm. This will be the last solar eclipse that will be viewable in the United States until 2044.
